Early Life of James McAvoy

McAvoy was born on 21st April 1979 in the Glasgow to a bus driver James McAvoy Sr. and the Nurse Elizabeth (died 2018). His parents divorced when he was in the age of eleven. He mostly lived with his maternal grandparents Mary and James Johnstone in the Drumchapel, Glasgow. He studied in the Catholic St Thomas Aquinas Secondary School in Jordanhill, Glasgow. During his education time he worked in a local bakery. He had not been in a touch with his father since his childhood period.

He has performed in many West End productions and received the nominations four times for the Best Actor of Laurence Olivier Award. He has also worked in many animated films as a Voice worker including Gnomeo & Juliet etc.
