This year California faced almost 12 feet of snowfall piled up in the Donner Pass in California’s Sierra Nevada mountains in the past 7 days of the week from Feb 23, 2023 – March 1, 2023. And more snowfall is expected during this weekend also.

Andrew Schwartz, lead scientist of the snow lab said that we have had the heavy snowfall in 1970 of October to February.
Schwartz also said that in the last three years we had three largest snowfalls.
How much snow has fallen in California?
The Tahoe region has received over 30 feet of snowfall in the February month but this is not an official statement. From October 1 some of the Western states of California led the country with snowfall according to the data from the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration.

Cooper says and he warns everybody to drive safely in the road because high winds and snow are continuous whiteouts.
In the Emerald Bay the roads around 50,80,88,89 were more treacherous than seen in the last 30 years because of the consistency of the winds.
We have seen Category 1, Category 2 winds over the ridge of the Donner Pass.
